Show Reviews — Del Mar, Bert Susanka, Rome and more
Del Mar, Rome and Kat, Bert Susanka and the Astronaut Love Triangle, along with Sexrat at Dipiazzas in Long Beach!
On July 23, 2009 Bud Gaugh (Sublime) made his return back to Long Beach with his current band Del Mar; a Surf, Punk, Rock band from Reno, Nevada.
The night started with opening acts such as Rome and Kat, Bert Susanka and the Astronaut Love Triangle, along with Sexrat, Stinky Pinky and The Tails. For those of you that got to DiPiazzas early, were fortunate enough to see the performances of Kat and Rome. This was one of the highlights of my night along with Bert Susanka who put on an awesome show as well, with his demanding, and well respected Long Beach presence.

If you have not seen or heard Kat before it is an amazing experience once you hear her vocals. Traveling through the crowd, it was a good surprise to see Mike Pinto and members of The B Foundation, showing their support on their night off from touring!

There were talk and rumors, not to mention high hopes that Eric Wilson would be in attendance at the show to do a few songs with Rome and Bud! Eric did not attend, but that did not stop Del Mar from inviting Rome on stage to do a cover of Sublime's Ebin. Despite the desperate chants from the crowd begging for one more song, the Long Beach locals, were more than happy with the cherry on top to end the night, with Rome's special guest appearance in covering Long Beach's own, Sublime, with Bud Gaugh banging away on his drums!
